He made it through the operation okay. They did six bypasses, using veins from his shoulder and legs. The first eight hours of recovery are the most dangerous, as the body tries to recover from the stress of being worked on like that. He has made it through that too, though he had a few difficult moments of fluctuating blood pressure. It went way up, then they gave him a drug to lower it. Then it went low and they had to give him another drug. Then it went high again. My mom and sister were in the room, and the doctors said when they'd talk to him, he'd relax, and soon made it past the fluctuations. I realized while talking to my mom that this fluctuation period happened around the same time that on the drive back (while I was driving) everything went silver and I almost fell into the sun, and I felt like I was up there near him.
